Getting Started
Aimbase offers cross-platform integration with other popular CMS and Automation tools through Zapier. The Zapier Aimbase integration will allow users to authenticate and submit leads and create lists in Aimbase without the use of the Aimbase API. The following guide includes a walkthrough on how to set up an Aimbase Zapier Zap with links to articles for specific zaps such as leads and lists.
Requirements:
- A Zapier account (https://zapier.com/)
-
An emailed invite from Rollick to use the desired Aimbase Zap
- Please provide your Rollick contact with your Zapier administrator email address to accept the Zapier invite
- The email will come from <contact@zapier.com>
- NOTE: The Aimbase Zaps are an invite-only at this time
- An Aimbase API Username and Password.
- This will be supplied to you by your Rollick point of contact.
- Your Aimbase subdomain name
- This is the same URL used to access the Aimbase User Interface.
- Example: https://rollick.aimbase.com
- rollick is your subdomain name
- Admin access to your "App" for Zapier to authenticate with. (For a list of apps that work with Zapier, click here: https://zapier.com/apps)
- Forms created in your "App" which pass field data to the Aimbase Zap.
- IMPORTANT: Aimbase requires certain fields specific to each Zap. You can see more about these required fields to the linked articles below.
Accept Zap Invite:
- Locate your email invite in your Zapier Administrators inbox. This email invitation will come from Zapier <contact@zapier.com>.
- Click on the link to accept the invite. (If you are not logged into Zapier yet, please do so). You should see the following page in your browser to "Accept Invite & Build a Zap," with the Rollick logo visible as one of the icons.
Where to find the Aimbase Zap in Zapier:
Once the Aimbase Zap invite is accepted, proceed to create your first Zap interaction using your preferred integration and the Aimbase Zap.
- Create a new Zap through your dashboard (https://zapier.com/app/zaps)
- Name your Zap, and search for your desired integration app using the Zap search function. In this example, we will use the HubSpot app integration.
- Once your integration app is selected, you can select a "Trigger Event" that you would like to use to "start" your Zap. Then click "Continue."
- NOTE: These "Trigger Events" are defined by the app's provider and not by Aimbase. If the "Trigger Event" you require for your selected app is not available, please contact the provider of the Zap app you are trying to use.
- The next screen may prompt you to "Sign In" or provide authentication for the "start" app you are setting up the "Trigger Event" for in the previous step. Sign in to your app server to give permission to Zapier to use your app's service.
- The example below is for HubSpot.
- Once you have authenticated with your app, Zapier will load data from your app with available options under "Set up trigger." This will populate data to be used in the second action, which is the Aimbase Lead Submission action.
-
NOTE: Each app is different in its setup. Typically there is a "Set up trigger" and "Test trigger" action available once you have selected the action within your app.
- Below the "Set Up Trigger" and "Test Trigger" sections, you will see "2. Action." Click this to open the action search window.
- "Test Trigger" will submit "test data" to your app form so Zapier can read the data as an "example" data set for pairing your App data to Aimbase lead data within the Zap in the next steps.
-
NOTE: Each app is different in its setup. Typically there is a "Set up trigger" and "Test trigger" action available once you have selected the action within your app.
- Search for "aimbase," in the query window. Select the desired Aimbase Zap " in the dropdown. Select the latest version towards the top of the list.
- NOTE: If you see "Newer Available", this indicates we have yet to promote the latest version, as it still may be in the testing or review phase.
- Once selected, select the Action Event that applies, then click "Continue"
- A new screen will appear which asks you to "Sign In." Similar to the previous step above, we need to Authenticate the Aimbase Zap. Click to sign-in. The button to open a new OAuth window.
- The new OAuth window will prompt you for the following:
- Subdomain Name
- This is the subdomain part of the URL for the Aimbase instance you are connecting to.
- Example: If your Aimbase instance domain name is https://rollick.aimbase.com, then this value would be rollick.
- Aimbase API Username
- This is the API user created in the Aimbase user interface. This user has permission to submit to and consume Aimbase data.
- This should be provided to you by your Rollick contact.
- Aimbase API Password
- This is the password used with the API username above.
- This should be provided to you by your Rollick contact.
- Aimbase Manufacturer Code
- This is a 2-8 letter manufacture code that represents the manufacture in Aimbase. This is required.
- This should be provided to you by your Rollick contact.
- Subdomain Name
- If authentication is a success, you should see your API Username next to the Aimbase Zap.
